Parev,

The Gala celebration of the Arshile Gorky Retrospective, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Thursday October 15, 2009, was an historic event. Almost everyone present had the same comment, “...never have we seen such a vast collection of Gorky under one roof...” The genius of Gorky was discussed by Michael Taylor, curator, in his remarks at the gala celebration. The whole program was powerful, exhilarating and uplifting. The herculean project was the united effort of many who believe in Gorky. It is amazing how much can be achieved with the right leadership and enthusiasm. The works of Gorky will be on display at the Philadelphia Museum until January and then travel to London and Los Angeles.

We salute the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the many Armenian and non-Armenian institutions whose generosity helped us enjoy these beautiful works.

This Sunday, we are expecting to have an interview with Dorothy Arakelian, author of “Come into My Kitchen”. Dorothy will discuss her book, her recipes and give us tips about the many delicious dishes we enjoy . Also, joining us will be Ninamarie Bojekian of Ooh La La Caterers. We will discuss culinary art with our guests. We should replace soccer-diplomacy with ‘food-diplomacy’ -we might have a better chance of winning at cooking!

ART in FALL was a smashing success. We thank all who helped out to make the evening a success. (read more)
